Corrections Communications Division


Provides service for inmate telephone repairs and facility call control, and equipment maintenance over a multi-state area. ShawnTech field technicians located throughout this service area provide quick response to customer repair requests with support from a team of dispatchers, managers, and technical administrators. This family of professionals work together to provide the legendary service that makes ShawnTech a telecommunications leader.

Central Office Division


This ShawnTech division installs high-speed digital switching equipment, such as Light Span 2000, Sonet, T3AS and the industry's newest equipment as soon as it is available. Responsibilities include:

  • Installing upper and lower superstructure
  • Drilling and mounting equipment rack
  • Installing miscellaneous cabling for power, alarms, timing, switchboards and more

 

Dispatch Center


The communications hub for dispatching ShawnTech's multi-state Department of Corrections technicians, the Dispatch Center monitors all trouble reports and technician repairs from the corporate office in Dayton, Ohio. By using special service-based software and daily e-mail, the Dispatch Center provides up-to-the-minute information to both customers and field technicians. Responsibilities Include:

  • Collecting, recording and processing information on a company wide basis
  • Working closely with customers, vendors and field Technicians to insure that communications are clear, continual and correct
  • Overseeing the timely dispatch and closure of all trouble tickets called into the Center from correctional facilities clients

 

Accounting Department


The Accounting Department is responsible for all financial aspects of the company. We bill ShawnTech customers for both Central Office and Correctional Contracts with MCI, Ameritech, Sprint and GTE. Responsibilities include:

  • Daily input and monitoring of all payables
  • Tracking tool and parts inventories
  • Procuring all necessary parts and tools for the DOC & Central Office Divisions
  • Addressing Payroll issues, including tracking Technicians' hours and expenses
  • Co-ordination between ADP, our payroll processing firm, and ShawnTech
  • Analyzing and producing monthly financial statements and reports necessary for ShawnTech's senior management and Executive Team to make operational decisions.

 

Human Resources Department


The Human Resources Department provides all ShawnTech employees with guidance and instruction regarding company policies and procedures, as well as an understanding of company operations. This department oversees and coordinates:

MIS Department


Working closely with company officers, managers and project staff, the MIS Department helps develop and maintain a long-range vision for ShawnTech systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the internal and external communication and information systems including voice mail, e-mail, servers , Great Plains ,Web site & telephone system
  • Coordinating infrastructure redesign efforts such as T1 implementation, terminal server, Microsoft Exchange server and remote access
  • Completing all hardware and software modifications, upgrades and/or installations within the company · Providing user training for voice mail, MS office products, e-mail, and company developed applications

ShawnTech Communications is an Authorized Agent for Verizon Wireless, formerly AirTouch Cellular.
